I am very very confused...

UPDATED RESPONSE:

I emailed Tower and got the following as a reply:

I wrote to Tower regarding my pre-order and this is what I received as a response:

Thank you for contacting Tower.com.

Unfortunately, it seems as though our vendor can no longer gain access to the item
you have ordered. Would you like to keep your order open in hopes of receiving it in the
future or would you like us to cancel your order for refund? You can also cancel your
order for this item through your Tower account.

I was a busy little bee and also emailed Liberation Entertainment. The response I got from them was it hasn't been released on DVD yet but keep checking.

And I also emailed Ron Oliver (yes, Ron Oliver) not to ask about the DVD but rather just to thank him and all involved for giving us this lovely series of films. Imagine my surprise when he emailed me back!

I am very confused. I pre-ordered Ice Blues from Tower.com about a month ago. And even as of yesterday when I was on the website, it said it was available for pre-order. The release date was given as 6-30-09. This evening I go to Tower and it says Ice Blues is not available on Tower.com. Now I did see that Ice Blues is available from Amazon.ca

If something screws this up, I think I'm going to email one of my Canadian friends and ask them if they can order it for me and then send it to me.

I'm just wondering what the heck is going on with this DVD. Anyone else find it anywhere other than Tower.com?

I don't know about buying this anywhere else, but you can order from amazon.ca directly and ship to US. I've done it many times. The "international" shipping cost isn't bad. And for some Canadian movies, books, bands, etc. it's actually cheaper than paying the "import" price to order on US amazon.com.

I just went to the Amazon.ca website and found out I can do just that! woohoo. If there is some problem with the DVD from Tower (I should find out tomorrow), then yep, I'm going to order directly from Amazon.ca. Oh and that's great knowing about Canadian bands because I happen to love Cape Breton music and some Celtic bands from Canada.

I do this constantly with the Amazon.uk site as I'm addicted to Rogue Traders, John Barrowman and a ridiculous amount of Europunk. And can I tell you how sad it is to try to find ANY of those things through a US portal?

That is very strange. I noticed on Amazon.ca it doesn't say what region it is. I know it was released in Australia but it was region 4, which will not work in most US players.

Have you gotten an email from Tower saying your dvd isn't available?

I haven't found region 1 DVD's anywhere but Amazon.ca But you can get region 4 (Australia/New Zealand) on Amazon.com. You can get region 2 (Europe/Japan) at Amazon.fr.

However, once Ice Blues goes on sale, I'll just do what I always do. Order it direct from the corresponding import portal. That's how I get all my UK imports. Even with international shipping it's cheaper and easier than trying to find it through a US portal sometimes.

It's not even on the here! website.

When I pre-ordered from Tower last month, it said it was a Region 1 DVD. I checked and double-checked it ;)

Yeah, I think I'm going to keep the whole Amazon.ca thing in mind. I didn't even realize I could do that!

Huh--I just went to the amazon.ca website this morning and guess what? The Ice Blues DVD I could have pre-ordered even last night is now temporarily unavailable!

Why oh why is there such a problem with this DVD?

Ice Blues DVD

I pre-ordered it a few days ago and went onto the Tower site, and it shows my order as "processing" and to be shipped soon. I wonder if the supply is limited?

This is my first time posting here. I saw Shock to the System as a rental, and promptly ordered all four movies the next day. I've been hanging out on YouTube watching the songvids there until my movies get here! I saw a Strachey songvid at a gathering of slash fans and fell in love with Donald and Tim, even without knowing who they were!

I'm in the same boat. Very weird and upsetting. I emailed Tower but haven't heard back yet. Grrrrrrrrr.

Holy cats, what's going on? I just tried to find it on amazon.ca and now it isn't available there either. http://www.amazon.ca/Ice-Blues/dp/B002784EOQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1246460111&sr=8-2

Tower finally responded with the following form letter, which tells us absolutely nothing:

Dear valued customer, Thank you for contacting Tower.com. Unfortunately the product
you are searching for is not currently in stock with Tower.com. We apologize for any
inconvenience this may cause. All the best, JessicaTower.com

I've never dealt with Tower before, and needless to say, I'm NOT impressed. My assumption is there was either a production or distribution glitch with the dvd. Dang it.

Since I'm in Europe I've ordered the DVD from Amazon in France and it's annoying, cause you can't put the french subtitles off!(Just ask me what an experience it was to order that DVD since I don't understand French!!)
But I'm glad to have it anyway and usually you can find it online how to make your player codefree.
